THIS IS How To Develop An Art Style

What makes a good art style

Since art is a unique medium, it is helpful to begin with a specific definition for what constitutes good art. An artistic style should not simply look appealing – it should communicate a purpose.

Most artists will agree that their style is a product of both their taste in art and the quality of their work.

Though that last element can be tricky to assess, it is clear that some art styles are more innovative than others. An effective style should be distinct, unique and identifiable – a purpose that has the potential to be fulfilled on a smaller scale, too.

Just like I was focused on creating original animations, I would recommend following the same general course.

1. Start a sketch

This is the moment to really find what kind of image you want to create. It's a good idea to start a sketch that’s not going to be used.

It's about experimenting, starting with something that’s not in your normal working palette. It's important to make this kind of sketch, because it’s like a self-portrait, it tells you what you are really looking for.

2. Make it bold

You want to make an impression and to catch the audience's attention.

You want them to be on the edge of their seat, to be interested, and not to be bored.

It's also important that you make an impact, you don’t want to be this boring background to all the action in the film.

3. Start simple

It’s very important to start simple and build on your ideas.

You can do this in Adobe Sketch or Paint. While sketching in Adobe Sketch, it's important to be focused and make a sketch that expresses your ideas.

As soon as you finish, you can save your ideas and move to the next step.

4. Sketch an action

You can start to sketch an action or scene in your head. The next step is to put it down on paper. It's also important to make sure that you sketch it, not simply sketch a scene. You can sketch a scene or take notes of the ideas in the script. It's also important that you create a background in your scene, so it makes sense in the final image.

5. The colour scheme

The next thing you need to do is to decide on the colour scheme.

It's also very important to choose colours that are neutral. You don’t want to have a rainbow of colours in your art.

You don't want it to be all too bright, and this is an important step in making your art work. You want your viewers to really focus on your image.

6. Begin to lay it out

Once you have the colour scheme, you need to start laying it out. This will be an important step for your image because it will give your viewer something to look at.

This is where your text comes in. If you are working in film, your text needs to be condensed and powerful.

7. Draw the main objects

Now you need to draw the main objects in your image. Take a pencil and make a clean outline of the objects you want to include in your image.

You can start to sketch and draw the objects in the image, but don't just sketch the objects, you also need to draw the background. You need to include the real environment in your piece, and this is where the finishing touches come in.

8. Add the tone of the environment

Finally, you need to add the environment to your image. This is where you add in details such as windows, bridges and streets.

These are all the things that help tell the viewer the story and show the story clearly. You also need to add textures and colours into the piece. This helps to make your image a real world that the viewer can really identify with.

9. Add in lighting

Last, but not least, add in lighting. Make sure that you add some light and shadow into your piece. The background should be dark, with lights and windows.

The foreground is light and bright. You can make sure that it's clear and everything is the same. It's also important that your audience can see the main objects from the foreground to the background.

You can add more depth and contrast to your piece, so it’s not so uniform.

Final note: You should make sure that you work on this right when you are writing a script, but also be creative and try to capture a scene from the screenplay as well.

Just think about the movie you want to make and what will be the most engaging. This will help you when you make your piece, it will help you get started.

You can also think about bringing the characters to life, which is something that will make your project truly cinematic.

When it comes to developing your own unique design style, most of your decisions will depend on what you like to do and how you like to do it.

For example, if you love to design videos, then you'll likely want your designs to be visually pleasing.

The more complex and interesting your video, the more likely it is that you will want to design for that.

That said, if you want to build an app for mobile, then the layout may be different than what you're used to seeing. You may want to take an eye-catching design and turn it into a usable one.
