Is Graffiti 'Art' or 'Vandalism' and Why?

Graffiti is a term used to either mean art or vandalism.

Most graffiti artists are respected members of the community, rather than criminals. But vandalism is illegal all the same and is very controversial.

In most cases, artists display their art or pay to display it in public spaces, when the authorities allow it.

Graffiti is essentially the act of marking a place with art to communicate, draw attention or express a message with symbolic meaning.

Graffiti itself is not illegal in the United States but can be considered vandalism if it damages the property of others.

How do people feel about graffiti generally?

When people see graffiti on public property, it often makes them feel disgusted or fear that their property could be attacked.

This, in turn, has a negative impact on how people interact with the place. Graffiti is disliked because it can have a negative impact on society, especially in the area of public property.

Graffiti artists could also be respected for drawing attention to social or political issues.

When used to decorate public spaces, graffiti artists add color, ideas, and feelings to what would otherwise be very boring, ugly, and seemingly pointless surroundings.

Graffiti’s role in communication is often overlooked, so it’s important to understand the motivations of the people who draw on public places.

In recent years, several cities in the US have been deciding whether to allow the creation of permanent public art or to keep the city graffiti-free.

The City of New York has produced a series of posters to help residents choose what they feel is the right art for the location.

Graffiti is generally illegal

However, graffiti is generally illegal. The act of drawing or painting on any property in a public space is criminal. As with other types of crime, the purpose is to protect the interests of the government.

The paint on the walls of buildings, signs and the human body is not just detrimental to the environment. Paint creates unsightly wear and tear on the buildings and public property. This is especially true in public transportation locations where there are already many obstacles to make a journey.

Paint on public property is very common, but many forms of graffiti are harmful to the environment.

For example, when you get arrested for drawing on the walls of the Brooklyn Bridge, it is unlikely that you will be charged with vandalism.

On the other hand, if you are caught drawing on a public park, you are liable for a fine, up to a year in prison or even both.

Why do some engage in graffiti?

In some cases, an artist is later invited to display their art, on the grounds that they were invited on legal grounds.

They are allowed to paint or otherwise make permanent, visible changes to the art on the streets of the city in order to attract an audience and to make the artists or the city feel good. This is, in some cases, still called graffiti.

The aim of the original artist is to get the art seen by as many people as possible and to make a statement.

It’s not so much about actually getting away with it, it’s about the general process of making art.

Artists have to think creatively and explore what they want to say, how it is seen and how it will change how people look at things.

Graffiti artists have a message to communicate

Artists are not usually motivated by the desire to get away with it.

They do it for one reason: they have a message to share.

Graffiti artists do this more than most artists – many take on projects or engage in activism.

They do this in order to give back to the community that supports them. By selling their art in the streets, they often gain financial support and donations.

In this way, they are able to develop their art on a larger scale and give back to society.

They also show that there is a different and interesting way of communicating ideas, which is to draw attention to an issue.

Rather than simply shouting your opinion, the graffiti artists use bright colours and different styles of illustration to get their message across.

Graffiti is often criticized by people

It’s not all positive, though. Graffiti can often offend people, and this can cause a lot of issues.

Whether people have the right to change public places because of what they see on them is a topic that many cities, councils and activists have debated over the years.

Graffiti on the walls of government buildings could create a negative impression of the entire country.

Graffiti on a well-known building, even if the graffiti is of nature which is protected by law, is also defacing public property. This kind of work is frowned upon.

In New York City, there have been numerous incidents of political graffiti being removed or damage being caused to the buildings.

Although, in a public forum like the street, it is difficult to police it all. This includes legal graffiti, and on the other hand, illegal graffiti. The police try to control it in the most common form – on walls.
