When talking about game design, one of the most important concepts to understand is spatial considerations. This term refers to how space in your game is used and organized. For example, are there separate areas or spaces that require specific rules for use?
In Division 2, we have what we refer to as Paradise Point. This is an optional area where players can go after the story campaign has been completed. Beyond this, however, there is not much else you can do here except wait out the end of the world!
If someone wanted to spend their time in Paradise Point farming resources or doing side quests, they would need to create private servers for themselves. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible within Division 2 anymore due to its closed ecosystem.
Closed ecosystems are when a developer limits access to certain parts of the game so only people who pay money to be part of the community can experience it. This usually happens because the developers want to keep the content fresh and increase revenue through paid services. It is a cost worth paying though since many games with large communities get free content regularly.
The more limited accessibility creates a sense of exclusivity which some people may like and others may not. What is important to remember about these types of closed systems is that while some people may feel excluded, most likely there were decisions made by the creators that led to this state of affairs. They may not agree with them, but they should at least acknowledge them.
When you are looking at something, how your eye is oriented about the object determines what parts of the image you see!
The angle of your eyes relative to the object determines which features you perceive. If your eyes are parallel to the surface of the item, then you only see its top layer.
If the eyes are angled up slightly, then you see the edge of the item. As you rotate your gaze down, however, the curvature of the item becomes more prominent until it takes over your vision.
By moving your eye direction, you can emphasize different aspects of an image. This applies not just to still images but also to videos!
Reminder: Use the same principle when watching TV or surfing the net. The setting of your computer screen, for example, impacts the way you view online content.
We will go into greater detail about this concept later in the chapter.
Another important part of the graphical design is labelling or defining an object. When designing a logo, for example, you must consider how to label the shape. If it has a circle as a body, what do we put in front of that? A name? An adjective?
If it has lines coming off of it, like a square with lines going down, what does that mean? You can usually add a ‘type’ afterword so “Typeface” would be a typesetting tool.
For logos with shapes such as squares, triangles, and circles, what do we call the empty area? What are their dimensions? Are they all the same size, or different? How about if there were two circles next to each other?
These questions should always be considered when picking your font, colour, and spatial placement.
When cleaning your hair, be sure to use the right products and do them in the correct order. Many people start with shampoo but then move on to conditioner or rinse out the product!
Neither of these is necessary when starting with natural hair care. A good first step is using a capful of warm water and running it through your hair as soon as you can feel a soft stretch. This will remove residue from the previous day’s hairstyling or showering session and give your hair a chance to relax before the next steps.
After that, apply some leave-in conditions like coconut or olive oil to help strengthen the hair and promote healthy growth. Then, wash your hair only once a week to keep the length and quality high. More frequent washes may cause breakage due to stress on the hair.
When cleaning your vehicle, make sure to always use the proper supply of cleaner! There are so many brands that claim to be the best, but none do it better than another. Make sure to look for an eco-friendly brand that is sensitive to water and the environment.
Some products contain large amounts of alcohol or volatile chemicals that can damage our engines or air quality. Some even include dyes which may not be appropriate for darker cars or clean vehicles.
Never mix cleaners yourself, as this could result in poor results or worse, hurtful exposure to harmful chemicals. Some people cannot use certain types of cleaners due to health concerns.
Some professionals handle car washes, and they should – but you don’t have to be one of them to give your vehicle the right care. From taking off old layers to washing with the right equipment, there are ways to ensure the integrity of your vehicle and its components.
Avoid using wax to protect your vehicle from dirt and grime because it will only help preserve the surface layer of paint. Use clear silicone spray on all areas of the car that require no protection such as door handles or plastic trays. This will allow for more natural lubrication.
The easiest way to clean your coffee maker is with baking soda and water! Simply pour in enough water to cover the top of the machine, add some drops of vinegar if needed, and mix them using a spoon or brush.
To get all of the residues out, let sit for a few minutes before rinsing under running water. Make sure to check underneath as well because sometimes plastic parts can be tricky to wash properly.
This works best if you do not drink very hot beverages as the acidity could potentially burn or damage the device.
