What To Get A Hipster For Christmas

This article will discuss what to get a hipster for Christmas. So don’t use this as an excuse to leave this page now.

First things first, you know it is too late to get them a Twilight books DVD. They already got a DVD of them!

If you really want to go the extra mile, you could buy them a DVD of The History of Hip Hop. It is a bit of a cliché, but it is a great and influential film that covers many topics in hip hop history and culture.

You will have to go out of your way to find one, but I assure you you’ll love it.

The musical score is an interesting and great alternative to the typical and over-used pop tunes that often get associated with documentaries. And it is more true to hip hop history and culture than you can ever imagine.

You could also go the hardcore route and get them a print-out of the New York Times’ arts and culture section from the 19th century if you really want to push the hipster meter over the edge.

The hipsters of Vancouver

House of books

If you really want to give a hipster something they have never heard of before, it’s a good idea to show them something totally different from their own perspective and experience.

Take The Colour Purple, for example. Most hipsters will never read a book by Ralph Ellison (the writer of The Color Purple). It is just not something they are interested in. But I’m sure they would love it if you bought them a copy.

That being said. However, they will probably be a bit confused as to why you would buy it for them.

Another great gift idea for a hipster is the Canadian mint Coke coins. They are collectors’ items, meaning they’re costly and only available to people with exceptional knowledge.

You have to go on an exclusive website to find them, but there are various reasons why they’re so expensive. Some of the coins are even not yet minted.

But when you look at them, they really are awesome. They depict different types of Coke memorabilia from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and they’re really cool to look at.

The hipsters of LA

Los Angeles hipsters don’t really like music much. It’s mostly their second or third favorite hobby (after the porn and weed).

They like movie stars a lot. And they really like goth rock music. But the most popular music genre among them is probably emo or screamo, a kind of rock music that tends to focus a lot on describing the pain and emotions of the protagonist of the song.

And then, of course, I’m sure they’d love to have a framed photo of Marilyn Manson (he of the demon and leather jacket).

The hipsters of Boston

If you’re in Boston, a good and exciting gift idea is the United States constitution. I’m not kidding. Some hipsters there actually buy it.

What is great about these hipsters is that they often date pretty young women. So you don’t have to be interested in young women to give them a copy of the Constitution.

You can use it as a stand-in and buy them a copy of The Color Purple to make it more appropriate.

The hipsters of SF

SF hipsters love to walk. Walk a lot.

What can you get them that is interesting and useful to do this activity? There’s no shortage of gift ideas. You can get them a limited-edition key chain with a picture of a dog wearing headphones or even a map with a mile marker each on every street in San Francisco.

Alternatively, you can get them a chocolate bar with a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge on it. They love it, especially when they don’t even eat chocolate.

The hipsters of New York

Exploring at Paris Fashion Week AW17

My favorite hipsters don’t really take themselves very seriously, and they definitely don’t dress up very often. In fact, they are often seen at fashion shows like The New York Stock Exchange.

So how can you go about this? This is a very tricky and extremely subjective thing.

On the one hand, you can get them a crappy gift that won’t get much use, and you’re hoping they’ll love it. On the other hand, you can get them a big expensive gift that they’ll like, and you’ll probably end up breaking or losing.

It’s hard to know what to do, but here are some good ideas that you can go for.

The hipsters of Paris

Paris hipsters might not take themselves too seriously. Maybe they actually enjoy a night of promiscuous sex (like hipsters are supposed to). Still, they are always seen hanging around with their friends, talking about how much they love ironic, intellectual Parisian hipster things like macrobiotics, techno music, and hipsters in general.

The hipsters of London

London hipsters love driving, drinking, and girls. Like most British hipsters, they also love drinking gin and tonic. You know, when you’re drunk, you have to pretend to be slightly offended by everything, and you don’t want to seem like a complete loser.

If you’re in London, you should make a good impression by buying them a glass of wine. It’s the classic token gift that people like to take home from dinner parties in Europe.

The next day they’ll think about it and remember you took it home, and it will make them feel smart and happy.

The hipsters of Seattle

Seattle hipsters like to take drugs and play video games.

This is more or less what the stereotype is. If you’re in Seattle, there’s no excuse to buy a bad gift for them. They’ll love everything you get them.

The hipsters of Portland

Portland hipsters are pretty different from most hipsters out there. They dress pretty stylishly, but they’re not particularly edgy, and they don’t drink that much.

They enjoy lots of travel, and they often hang around in coffee shops. That’s pretty much what they do the rest of the year, so you should give them the gift of a travel guide for next year or next week if they’re really tight on cash.

The hipsters of Sydney

Sydney hipsters like to drink coffee and listen to beatbox music.

Like in every other city, this is a broad category. Sydney hipsters are slightly different because they’re more about “hipster”-style arts, fashion, and music than the average hipster.

These people listen to Beatport regularly and listen to hip hop in nightclubs while avoiding intellectual rock music like Pink Floyd.

The hipsters of Toronto

Toronto hipsters don’t have to hide their old ties and suit coats. On the contrary, they wear them proudly. They’re often seen at the park playing Frisbee, especially on sunny days.

These people are usually quite trendy, but also they’re very polite.
