As we know, architects are trained in how to design buildings, but what about their artistic side? They train in creative concepts for designing spaces, but none of them teach you how to draw or paint from the basics up!
That’s not to say that some architects can’t do it though. Some manage to take architectural shapes and combine them with other styles to create something new and beautiful, just like anyone else who masters the art of drawing and painting!
But why should people be interested in this? Why should you invest time into learning how to draw and/or paint if most people don’t really use it?
There are many reasons. For one, artists make good money so it is an attractive career path. It also helps develop your creativity as well as visualization skills since you have to look at lots of pictures and drawings to get inspiration. And lastly, knowing how to put colors together and structure patterns makes it easy to pick up another medium (like painting!).
This article will go over the fundamentals of drawing and painting, along with some of my tips and tricks for getting started.
While not everyone considers architects to be artists, most would agree that they are very creative. Architectural styles emerge and evolve over time, showing how creativity can flourish in areas like painting, sculpture, and designing buildings.
Architecture is more than just pretty shapes and decorations – it’s an expression of someone’s style. A house with lots of rounded corners looks different from one with sharp angles.
At its core, though, all architectures aim to create comfortable spaces for people to enjoy and live in. This includes rooms, homes, or apartments, as well as larger structures such as parks and shopping malls.
History is rich with many architectural styles that have stood the test of time. Many remain popular today. Others are now forgotten!
This article will talk about six important periods in architectural history. You may know some of these already, but you should definitely check out the rest! Who knows, you might find something new to admire.

Who doesn’t love looking at beautiful buildings? Even if you don’t like or can’t identify with their style, you are still influenced by them.
The way a building shapes its space, how it balances in your mind between being solid and open, what colors it uses, and how well it fits into its surrounding area all have an effect on you. These effects depend on yourself and then some on who designed the building and why they put certain features there.
Architecture has been around for a long time, even longer than writing! Ancient Greeks and Romans built structures that remain impressive to this day. Many famous architects work in styles that are recognizable, such as Mies van der Rohe or Antoni Gaudi.
These artists not only used interesting shapes but also mixed natural materials with artificial ones. They incorporated lots of patterns, which help camouflage away any waste from construction. This helps keep the eye focused on the design rather than the equipment next door.

Certain building shapes and styles are considered to be more artistically pleasing than others. These styles influence how people perceive your buildings, give you recognition as an architect, and contribute to creating strong emotions in passersby.
Some of these artistic styles include Neoclassical, Gothic, Romanesque, Chippendale, Neo-Gothic, Baroque, Brutalist, Minimalist, and Postmodernism. All of these styles have something in common beyond just their look, though — they convey a sense of harmony, proportion, and unity.
These proportions and rules of geometry come naturally to artists, making it easy for them to pick up where professional architects leave off.

A lot of people consider architecture to be an art form, but what does that really mean?
Art is not defined by what genre it belongs to, like painting or sculpture, nor is it limited to representations of nature or still life. Rather, it’s an expression of something internal — in this case, creativity.
Some say that architects use creative skills to design buildings, which are typically categorized as either utilitarian (like houses) or artistic (like skyscraper towers). Either way, both types of structures need adequate space for shelter and food, so they aren’t completely unique.

In order to understand how to draw beautifully, learn some basic principles of architecture. The easiest way to do this is by learning about shapes. Shapes are one of the most fundamental concepts in design, so knowing them well can help you develop your drawing skills!
Architecture is built upon three main shapes: circle, square, and rectangle. These three shapes make up the majority of buildings we see every day- for example, a house or a shopping center.
By practicing drawing these common shapes repeatedly, you will quickly learn how to draw beautiful landscapes, houses, and streets. You can also use that knowledge to create your own designs or even build structures with them!
There are several theories as to why making regular shapes work so well, but the best explanation comes down to balance and repetition.
Balance means creating an element that is in proportion to the rest of the shape or element. For instance, if a building has a rectangular front, then it would be out of balance if there was a rounded corner instead.
Repetition is when something becomes boring because nothing new is being added to it. By adding different elements to a repeated shape, it becomes interesting again.
